NEVER use a fork to poke your steak. It will release the moisture which makes the steaks drier. Use tongs.

nicely presented keith. im learning and getting better at cooking steaks. my first attempt at ny strip was in the oven set to broil. i dried them up and killed the flavor. i still ate it but im learning from my mistakes . thanks.

you’ve only seen one of Ramsay’s steak videos. I’ve seen all of his on kitchen nightmare, F word and cookalong.
3 minutes on each side depending on how you want it and as well as the thickness of the cut.
Steak is not best pan fried, what he meant was steak is FASTEST pan fried with OIL. The butter gives it texture and flavour.
Theres nothing wrong with the way Keith cooked it, he served it with sauce so thats why you dont want such a juicy steak.

I don’t think it’s the meat itself that’s burnt, it’s the steak rub. I doubt it affects the flavor much.
