Video Recipe: Hash Browned Potatoes

Very straight forward and helpful. Thank you, I always appreciate an informative video that actually delivers what it promises. I’m preparing a breakfast get-together this weekend, and I will be making these to go alongside my breakfast bake.

how long did you let it cook for? and how do you know it’s done

Absolutely delicious! Best hash browns I’ve ever made. Had to use fingerling potatoes because that’s all I had, but the shallots and butter worked magic on the potatoes. Thanks, Keith!

I think I have the same peeler (fron Bron).
Last year this very well off man died who lived on Central Park West in NYC (very high rent area). I would often see him on the streets of Brooklyn perched on a 5 gal. pail with some milk crates and a large board showing how the peeler was so versitile (it is a great peeler). He sold hundres all over the city for $5.00 each. You can see him selling on the street on many YouTube videos.

I am going to give you my wife;s secret if you want hash browns like at Restaurants. Make the hashbrown like n the video. don’t fry them. next step is to Boil water (very hot.) put a thin layer (1in) of hashbrown in a container and add hot water to it, just enough to cover the hashbrownt cover it. when Hashbrown absorbs all the water is done. Now in a skillet spray oil, grab a handfull of cooked hashbrown, cover and let it cook for half a minute on each side and that’s it.. Enjoy! Tender

if you add an egg..then it’s not a potato pancake…..not a bad idea though….

not much..they just look a little different…truth be told, is you use russets, they will turn much quicker than a yukon gold or yellow potato…brown is just oxidation..wont hurt you
