Red Stew

How to make a Nigerian red stew. When one talks about stew in Nigeria, it will always be this stew with beef or chicken or any other meat option that tickles your fancy. My mother sometimes makes this with a combination of meats like beef, tripe and cow foot and it really makes the flavor of this stew quite special as a result.

@jsmnjilljac you can do whatever you want with the chicken….you can boil….fry…broil, bake….whatever way you like it…sometimes i boil and broil mine…sometimes i boil and then fry…most of the times i just boil it…

@sadeeqsuhayr thanks jo……lol they want the whole world to start cooking yoruba stew lol….they’ve cooked it already oh …but they want everybody else to cook it like them…olodo oshi…..go and do chi chi’s recipe jare and do something good and new for your life lol…the last time i checked they’re different ways for cooking stews…not just yoruba stews….

its not only yoruba stew lol its yoruba soup….pls chi chi don’t listen to this rubbish just cook things the way you do or the way you were taught…..she does not need to cook what you call yoruba stew for it to be called stew….and she did not misrepresent the Nigerian culture for food….in fact she did a great job representing our culture…besides she doesn’t need your yoruba stew recipe lol because she’s cook the stew the way she likes it and it is called nigerian stew

@enidisi everybody cooks their food differently…and chi chi don’t listen to that…as long as it looks like nigerian stew and tastes like stew…then it is stew lol…..even i cook my stew differently…but i’ve learnt a new way today and i’ll try this method….

Hey! I love the stew…..just a lil confused tho…is this the same thing as a fried RAGU tomato paste with onions and chicken? (i dont know where to get REAL tomatoes, the tomatoes at the grocery store always have a different taste from the ones i had in Nigeria)
