AFAIK, it was first served in form of meat wrapped in bread by a Turk in Berlin, but kebab as chopped lamb/chicken (“the protein part” in a meal) derives from Turkey.

In Poland the same, though I’m still far from calling it “healthy” (maybe it’s because of the fast food label .

To the top comment: I’ve read the Donair was from Turkey not Germany? (Not sure, but if you could point me towards the info)

I was in complete shock at that young woman feeding her kids that absolute garbage every night with a fridge filled with sugar and spending a fortune doing it.

I thought exactly the same. When I’m home late from work, don’t have the time to prepare anything, I go the turkish diner and order salad dürüm which is a kinda vegetarian döner kebab. it’s basicly salad in a roll. it’s totally loaded with veggies.
no comparison to this junk.

Funny about her stabbing the meat. It looks terrible and Jamie says it’s murder, but her logic behind doing so is perfectly fine. It actually makes sense because you allow the heat to penetrate easier into the middle portion of the tuna. Result is more even cooking.

Cooking’s the easy part. But the prep and washing isn’t something many people would like to do after a hard day of work.

one thing i dont understand is why english people call the meat döner kebap in germany where the döner was invented it is a proper bread filled with salad, different sauces, meat and tomatos and cucumber and its much healthier than chips and burgers
